HOW TO USE FROZEN BLOODWORM
Used sparingly in loose feeds and bait mixes Frozen Bloodworm is an incredible attractor, outstanding as a PVA bag mix, spod mix or particle mix additive that can be used throughout all four seasons.
Bloodworm is a staple natural food for carp in almost any environment, and is the bright red aquatic larva of a small midge found around rivers and lakes, the blood of which contains haemoglobin allowing it to live in poorly oxygenated water where silt has built up.
Its track record for promoting intense feeding in the most pressurised carp is well known. Frozen Bloodworm is a standard part of Kev Hewitt’s grubbing mix that has brought him big fish success year after year – including his remarkable SEVEN 40s in a session on the Carp Society’s Farriers.

Usage Tips:
Flaked Maize:
Frozen Bloodworm is considered one of the best additives to use with Flaked Maize. Add a generous handful of Bloodworm to a kilo of Flaked Maize that has already been softened with boiling water for 20 minutes. This mix helps ensure the Bloodworm get to the bottom even in deep water or strong undertow.
Spod Mixes and Grubbing Mixes:
Frozen Bloodworm is excellent when combined with fine boilie crumb and pellets, to create a consistency that can be introduced using a spod, remote boat, baiting spoon or by hand. Many CC Moore team anglers have found this effective when using alongside Live System boilies and Live System Bag Mix.
Boilies:
Frozen Whole Bloodworm can be added into the boilie making process at the mixing stage but is most effective when not heated. Mixing Frozen Bloodworm into a bucket of boilies and allowing the worms to thaw and cover the boilies is more effective. Adding the corresponding Booster Powder also helps stick the Bloodworm to the outer skin of the baits.
Customer Guidance:
- Frozen Bloodworm is sent on an overnight delivery service.
- It will arrive thawed or part thawed, but in perfect fresh condition.
- Refreeze as soon as possible, dividing the contents of the bag before refreezing if you want to use it in smaller quantities.
- Once thawed Bloodworm will spoil on the bank if left in the sun and in warmer air temperatures.
- Add Bloodworm to bait mixes as and when you rebait, keeping it chilled in cool bags using freezer blocks to prolong its life.
